===Descent from a Qymish parent===
Children automatically become Qymish citizens at the time of their birth, when one or both of their parents is a Qymish citizen. Paternity proof is required when the father is a Qymish citizen and the mother is not. If the country of citizenship of the non-Qymish parent also foresees a ''jus sanguinis'' (right of blood), the child will have dual citizenship.

===Naturalization===
It is possible to apply for Qymish citizenship by naturalization generally after 10 years of continuous residence in Qym.

Additional requirements include:
*knowledge of the [[Qymish language]] or a recognized regional language ([[Emadinian language|Emadinian]], [[Litagẽyan language|Litagẽyan]], [[Qarhõnian language|Qarhõnian]], [[Rumykian language|Rumykian]] or [[Sunamese language|Sunamese]]) if a resident of a subdivisions where it is co-official.

Naturalization as a Qymish citizen based on 10 years of continuous residence is discretionary and may be refused.

He may also denaturalize those granted honorary citizenship or Qymish citizens convicted by the [[Royal Court of Qym|Royal Court]], a tribunal that tries Qymish citizens and foreigners for crimes and offenses of an international nature or for specific issues that may involve third-party states, as well as current events such as terrorist acts, and attacks against the Crown and its representatives, in other words the royal family. Serving in a foreign armed force automatically revokes Qymish citizenship.

==Dual citizenship==
Qym fully recognizes and allows dual citizenship but restricts the number of citizenships to only two, meaning a Qymish citizen may only be a citizen of one other country or their Qymish citizenship will be revoked.
