This template inserts a [[Wikipedia:tooltip|tooltip]] that says "approx." and [[approximately]] when hovered over.

If parameter <code>link</code> is set to a [[truthy (computing)|truthy]] value then "approx." will also be a link to [[Approximation]] (via the redirect [[Approximately]]); if the parameter <code>tilde</code> is set to a truthy value, then "approx." will be replaced by a tilde; and if the parameter <code>cap</code> is set to a truthy value, then "approx." will be written as "Approx.".

If parameter 1 is set, that value will be displayed after the approx. This is to allow the approx. and a value to be a single entity semantically.
