Meranian religions are the religions that originated in the continent of Meran. These religions, which include Auserism and Scildism are also classified as part of Boreal religions. Meranian religions are one of the four families of religions on Basis, the other three being Darochian, Paharian and Visalian religions. Although the classification is geographic, Meranian religions are not confined to Meran and merely reflect the origin of these religions.

Bronze Age

Antiquity

  • Byrakan religion: the ancient polytheist religion of the Byrakans. Many of its deities were directly inspired by Ottelian deities.
  • Scildism: a misotheistic religion that originated in Byrak through oral tradition and in Ottelia through written tradition by poets such as Mylas. It takes its root from lower class opposition to the various Meranian priestly castes and polities justifying wars or other abuses in order to please or appease certain deities. It quickly became a cult of human heroes who opposed gods and their agents on Basis, while also promoting mutual aid in the face of adversity.
  • Sukatic religion: the ancient polytheist religion of the Sukats before their conversion to Scildism.
