This template generates an icon for the specified image given in |1=, matching the size, CSS class, and other attributes of images produced by {{Flag icon}}. It can be used for arbitrary images not included in any Category:Country data templates.
Please consider the Manual of Style section on flags before using this template. Use caution when applying this template in infoboxes, as flags are generally discouraged in that context per MOS:INFOBOXFLAG. Additional considerations include avoiding flags used purely for decoration and ensuring historical accuracy. For further guidance, see MOS:FLAGS.
