The Divine Couple is a central concept in Sunneism and Mōnaïsm based on the coupling of Sunne and Mōna, resulting in the creation of humanity and all living things.
Book of Life narrative
The opening chapters of the Book of Life describe the gods Sunne and Mōna as consorts. Together, they created life on Basis, the mortal world. The Book of Life asserts that Sunne – representing masculinity – and Mōna – representing femininity – are opposite but complementary forces. Mōna, represented in black, evokes, among other things, nighttime, darkness, autumn, winter, coolness, receptivity, etc. Sunne, on the other hand represented in yellow, evokes, among other things, daytime, brightness, spring, summer, heat, dynamism, action, etc. The Book of Life asserts that people need both masculinity and femininity in their life to become balanced individuals worthy of life.
