Salmony (Salmian: Սալմօնփ, IPA: /θɪ:ɔ̃n/), officially the Kingdom of Salmony, is a country in the continent of Meran on the planet Basis. It borders Chiyan to the north. Salmony is a unitary state, divided into 13 counties. The capital city is Gosin, and the largest city is Oppina.
Salmony is a member of the Basis Forum. It is also a member of the International Trade Federation and the Basis Climatic Organization. Salmony is a developed country.
History
Settled by Thyo-Merinese tribes in 2400 BCE, who expanded south from present-day Chiyan. They mixed with the original inhabitants, the Sals, who were a ethnic group spread across southern Salmony. Following the Prungundian Revolution and civil war, Republican activity increased in Salmony. Fearing a revolution in Salmony followed by Chiyan, Thyon intervened to ensure Prugundy did not support any Republican activity in Salmony. Instead, Thyon pushed Salmony to adopt a code of fundamental rights, in order to retain an ally to the south.
