The Cunerians (Thyonese: Ծունեռաի, Cunerai) were an ancient civilization located in Meran and a centre of maritime, cultural, and military power in Meran during the Antiquity. Their capital and cradle was Lanpoi, on the Lower Auser Valley, near modern-day Rhempo, in what is now Thyon.
Cunerian civilisation spread up the Auser Valley, forming large urban settlements at key fertile growing areas. Cunerians spread the early Cunerian langauge and writing system, which would become the Thyo-Merinese languages and script.
