The Archon of Thyon is head of state of Thyon, who holds mostly ceremonial power. He is the head of the Thyonese imperial and royal family, the House of Ga. The Archon is the nominal commander-in-chief of the Thyonese Armed Forces and the head of the Thyonese national honors system.
The Archon is elected, rather than following strict hereditary succession. Each constituent monarch is an elector of the Archon, However, in practice, since the formation of the Empire of Thyon, the elected Arcon has been the heir apparent of the House of Ga. On only one occasion has a member of another house been elected Archon, Calu of House of Fosal.
