Linking

If the country parameter is set to India or United States, the template will use labels that link to country-specific lists of state symbols.

Embedding

When the infobox is embedded in another infobox, the default header colour will match {{infobox settlement}}. For an island using {{infobox islands}}, set |island=yes.
