The Bachan calendar is a sunnean calendar made of 11 months divided into 30 days, except the last month which has 31 days, for a total of 331 days. Each month is divided into 3 weeks of 10 days.
It went into effect in Qym following a royal decree issued by King Bacha I in 1930. It was later adopted by other countries in Meran throughout the centuries and eventually throughout Basis following the SOME INTL TIME CONVENTION in 2322.
Years
To facilitate comparison of societal and technological progress with Earth's, and to make conversion straightforward, Year 1 of the Bachan calendar matches "Year 0.8307266177" of Earth's Gregorian calendar. In other words, every Basis Year equals 83.07% of an Earth Year. The years that follow can either be left as is, with just the number (Example: 2440) or add CE after (Example: 2440 CE). The years that predate that epoch either use a negative sign before the year (Example: -2440) or add BCE after (Example: 2440 BCE).
This means that the Earth Year 2027 would equal the Basis Year 2440 (rounded). In a mirror manner, Basis Year 2400 would equal the Earth Year "1993.74388248", that is to say the start of the Basis Year 2400 was equivalent to September 29th, 1993. In the wiki, this will be written using the abbreviation template as follow:
{{abbr|2400|1993.74 (Earth Year Equivalent)}}
Yielding:
2400

Weeks
A month in the Bachan calendar is divided into 3 weeks of 10 days each. The days are named after the 8 planets in the Sunne star system, as well as Sunne and Mōna.

Most religions on Basis have a designated one holy day during the week. In Sunneism and Mōnaïsm, it is on the day of Mōna, while in Scildism and Ānism, it is on the day of Basis. In Manigism, they do not have a weekly holy day, but rather celebrate the Last Day of the Year as their holy day, representing a new cycle.
Date format
For wiki purposes, the English date format would be:
- Neutral short format: dd/mm/yyyy (Example: 14/05/2440)
- Alternative short format: dd/w/mm/yyyy (Example: 04/2/05/2440)
- Neutral medium format: Day 'd' Month 'm' Year 'yyyy' (Example: Day 14 Month 5 Year 2440)
- Alternative short format: Day 'd' Week 'w' Month 'm' Year 'yyyy' (Example: Day 4 Week 2 Month 5 Year 2440)
- Neutral long format: 'd' day of the 'm' month in the year 'yyyy' (Example: 14th day of the 5th month in the year 2440)
- Alternative long format: 'd' day of the 'w' week of the 'm' month in the year 'yyyy' (Example: 4th day of the 2nd week of the 5th month in the year 2440)
- Scildist long format: 'd' day of the month of 'heroic name' in the year 'yyyy' (Example: 14th day of the month of Nojed in the year 2440)
