Basis Corruption Perceptions Index

The Basis Corruption Perceptions Index (BCPI) is an index published annually by Povnyj Lajna, a Qymish polling firm, since 2400. It scores and ranks countries by their perceived levels of public sector corruption, as assessed by the general public and academic experts throughout Basis. The BCPI generally defines corruption as an "abuse of entrusted power for private gain". Of the NUM countries ranked in the 2440 BCPI, published in early 2441, the top scorers included COUNTRY (SCORE), while those perceived as the most corrupt included COUNTRY (SCORE), and Kibabi (3). Although widely used as a key indicator of corruption, the BCPI does not capture all forms of corruption. Perceptions about corruption may differ from actual levels of corruption and the index focuses solely on the public sector.
