Transhumanist Party

The Transhumanist Party (THP) is the ruling and sole legal party of the Transhumanist Republic of Geno. Every political office in Geno necessitates the office holder to be a party member. The Transhumanist Party maintains control over Geno's politics by stripping party membership away from anyone – in office or not – who doesn't adhere to the party's ideology by their actions, rendering them unable to run for office, or removing them from office altogether.

President

The President of Geno is elected by direct universal suffrage for a seven-year term, renewable once. This is the most prestigious political office in Geno, both in terms of protocol and as the embodiment of state authority. The president is the head of state in Geno, the commander-in-chief of the Genonian Armed Forces, and the leader of the Transhumanist Party. He is also the guarantor of the Transhumanist Constitution of Geno.

The president wields considerable influence within the executive branch. He plays a decisive role in foreign policy and generally guides government policy. The president appoints a prime minister as head of government, subject to approval by the Transhumanist Congress. The president also appoints, on the prime minister's recommendation, the other members of cabinet. He presides over the cabinet, where he signs decrees and ordinances and promulgates laws.

The government is appointed by the President of Geno and is placed under the political authority of the Prime Minister, who is the head of government.

Legislature

The Transhumanist Congress of Geno is a unicameral legislature comprising 350 members. Each congressman or congresswoman represent an electoral district and is elected for a seven-year term by combined approval voting. This means Genonian citizens approve (+1), disapprove (-1) or are indifferent (0) towards a list of candidates to represent the Transhumanist Party in their district. An empty selection, or a blank vote, is considered an indifferent vote. The candidate with the largest score, or net approval, is the winner and becomes a congressman or congresswoman.

The Transhumanist Congress is headed by a chairman and its main role is to debate, amend, and vote on laws. Furthermore, the Transhumanist Congress has the power to dismiss the government, which implies that the government should not disagree with it.

Considered a pariah state globally, Geno does not have diplomatic relations with most countries.

Military

Military service is required for all male citizens and is fixed at age 22 after which they serve for two years, followed by reserve duty until age 70. Conscientious objections are not recognized and there is no civilian alternative to military service.

In 2440, Geno's military expenditure totaled approximately $82.25 billion, or around 17.3 percent of the country's gross domestic product, placing it ?th for military expenditure worldwide.

Geno's human rights record is considered one of the worst in the world. Humans rights are supposedly guaranteed, subject to fulfillment of the citizens' duties to Protect the Future, as enshrined in the constitution.

A Genonian man's duty is to protect his country's future through military and community service. Men must serve in the military for two years from age 22 to age 24 and be on various forms of reserve until age 70.

A Genonian woman's duty is to protect her country's future through childbearing and community service. Women must minimally give birth to 3 abled citizens during their most fertile period between age 24 and age 42.

LGBTQ+ rights are non-existent as the constitution only recognizes two gender identities, men and women, and one sexual orientation, heterosexual. Sexual minorities are treated as mentally ill people and either go through conversion therapy or forced sterilization.

As of 2440, the fertility rate is 3.94 children per woman, significantly higher than the rate of 2.1 children per woman required for natural population replacement. This is largely due to the natalist policies of the Transhumanist Party. Genonians are the tallest people on Basis, with an average height of 1.86 meters (6 ft 1.2 in) for men and 1.71 meters (5 ft 7.3 in) for women in 2440.
