The Thyo–Chiyanese Alliance is a treaty and military alliance between Thyon and Chiyan. Signed in 2346, the Alliance guarantees mutual defense between Thyon and Chiyan. The Treaty provides a mutual guarantee of sovereignty between Thyon and Chiyan. In practice, due to the Thyonese Armed Forces size and capability far outpacing that of the Chiyanese Armed Forces, the alliance functions as a Thyonese guarantee of defense to Chiyan.

The Alliance's treaty contains provision for joint command of Thyonese and Chiyanese armed forces by mutual agreement. The provision was first invoked during the Austral War in 2353. It was again invoked in 2430, this time permanently, as part of the Thyo–Chiyanese Agreement on Closer Relations, as such both armed forces operate under the joint command.

History

In the aftermath of the Boreal War, Thyon and Chiyan sought to cooperate closer on mutual defense. This desire was driven in part by the overrun of Chiyan during the war, and the openness of the Thyonese southern border. Thyonese military command considered coordination with Chiyan necessary to prevent a repeat of the invasion of Thyon by Prugundy.

The Treaty was signed by Archon Adsei XIII and Grand Duke DUDE in Polamdi in 2346.
