Tamodia is a sovereign state in Northern Meran. It borders Thyon to the south, Qym to the east, Nykal to the north, and Holaria to the west.
History
- Populated by various tribes until the Iron Age.
- Conquered by the Cunerian Empire in 350 BCE.
- The Sukats invade from the West in 990 CE. Becomes part of the Sukats Kingdom, which wages wars against the Cunerian Empire, notably incorporating the Duchy of Merin in 1011 CE.
- The Sukats Kingdom collapses in 1100 CE and the Western Sukatian Empire forms around Tamodia, with its capital in Mülahas.
- The Western Sukatian Empire is progressively expelled from Thyon during the Thyo-Merinese Rejuvenation.
- The Western Sukatian Empire formally collapses in 1396 CE, and is divided into various realms. The Duchy of Tamodia is established and eventually incorporated into the Gosarian Empire.
- The current Kingdom of Tamodia is established in 1918 CE, following the First Gosarian War resulting in the fall of the Gosarian Empire.
- The Kingdom eventually becomes ruled by a cadet branch of the Qymish House of Zhifol, after a series of succession wars with the Thyonese House of Ga, as the country is strategically located between the two great powers as a buffer state.
- Due to internal pressure resulting from the Prugundian Revolution and the subsequent Prugundian Civil War, Tamodia becomes a semi-constitutional monarchy in 2197 CE, ending absolutism.
- In 2329, Tamodia is invaded by Holaria which marks the beginning of the Boreal War. The country is decimated by the war, occupied for several years, and loses 28.6% of its pre-war population.
- Contemporary issues include the Rumykian conflict (also in neighboring Qym and Thyon).
Geography
Tamodia is landlocked and borders Thyon to the south, Nykal to the north, Holaria to the west, and Qym to the east.
Maybe Thyon's sacred river passes here, or a tributary?
Politics
Tamodia is a unitary semi-constitutional monarchy with a democratic parliamentary system. Its head of state is King DUDE of the House of PLACE, a cadet branch of the Qymish House of Zhifol. As head of state, the King's powers are limited to foreign policy and defense. Its head of government is a prime minister, indirectly elected through the Parliament of Tamodia and usually being the leader of the political party with the majority of seats. If no majority is formed, a minority government can be formed if support from other parties during confidence and supply votes is assured. The King appoints ministers under advice from the prime minister. Cabinet, formed by ministers and led by the prime minister, is the highest policy-making body in government and responsible for deciding significant government actions. Members of Cabinet make major decisions collectively and are therefore collectively responsible for the consequences of these decisions. The current prime minister, since DAY MONTH YEAR, is PERSON.
Autonomous communities
Autonomous communities are the first level administrative divisions of Tamodia. They were created after the Boreal War through devolution in recognition of the right to self-government of its two main ethnolinguistic minorities: Holarians and Rumykians. The autonomous communities have wide legislative and executive autonomy, with their own elected parliaments and governments. Each autonomous community is responsible for healthcare and education, among other public services, making Tamodia's unitary state a somewhat asymmetrical federal state in practice.
Foreign relations
Tamodia is a member of the Organization of Sukatic Nations, which represents an important part of its foreign policy. On a wide range of issues, Tamodia often prefers to coordinate its efforts with its Sukatic partners, particularly Qym, and most of its political parties advocate for Pan-Sukatism and Meranian integration. Tamodia also maintains close relations with its southern neighbor Thyon.

Tamodia is part of the Sukatic Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance.

Tamodian is the official language. Rumykian and Holarian are recognized regional languages with official status in their respective autonomous communities.

Religion
Tamodians are ~65% Scildist, ~25% THYO-MERINESE RIVER RELIGION and ~10% irreligious.
A plurality of Rumykians are THYO-MERINESE RIVER RELIGION at ~45%, Scildist at 40%, and irreligious at ~15%.
The Holarian minority is predominantly THYO-MERINESE RIVER RELIGION at ~90% and irreligious at ~10%.
